Winchester mystery House in San Jose, CA
With its labyrinth of 160 rooms, staircases leading to nowhere, and rumors of being haunted, it's no wonder the Winchester Mystery House draws big crowds to its tours year round. Built by the multi-millionaire 19th century heiress Sarah Winchester, an eccentric who suffered from grief over the deaths of her husband and child, the house once had as many as 600 rooms. Today, visitors can explore the lavish Victorian era gardens and grand mansion. Be sure to stick close to your tour guide, as the house is a literal maze of hallways and visitors can get lost.Details
